James Buis

James Buis is based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. He joined Olive Judd in 2024 as a law clerk and focuses his practice on complex commercial and construction litigation, contract disputes, real estate related litigation, and corporate transactional work.

James earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida International University College of Law, where he was a Dean’s List Scholar. During law school, he served as President of the FIU Law Trial Team where he developed strong courtroom advocacy skills and placed in the top three at the National Georgetown Law White Collar Crime Invitational. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management, cum laude, from Florida State University.
